Three Preludes

For brass quintet. Duration - 9 minutes. 

These three little pieces were written to fulfill two brass quintet needs that were explained to me: short, high energy openers and “epically beautiful” slow movements.

The three were written at a time when I was reading far more widely than my usual history books, and in a month filled with momentous events. The pieces (and their titles) reflect and embody the disputation, dialogue and questioning of these two weeks that informed my writing.
